There is no certified-hardware list and no certified-ISV programme, so qualification is yours. Ironic-class bare-metal provisioning has no equivalent. Hard multi-tenant GPU partitioning with MIG is roadmap, not shipping. And it asks the team to understand Kubernetes before it understands the platform.
2. Nutanix AHV
Architecture: Proprietary KVM-based hypervisor inside Nutanix HCI appliance.
Best for: Existing Nutanix HCI customers; VM-centric enterprise estates; teams that want one vendor accountable for the whole stack.
Why pick: Genuinely the best operational experience on this list — Prism, one-click LCM upgrades, built-in dedup, compression and erasure coding, and a support organisation with a reputation it earned. Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP, from the D2iQ acquisition) now covers containers; the old “Nutanix cannot do Kubernetes” line is out of date.
Watch out for: Closed source; certified-node list constrains hardware choice; per-node subscription economics; container story is a separate product rather than the same control plane.
